Wrist Size vs. Watch Size Comparison - SNK803, Bambino, Nighthawk, etc.

One of the things that I always had a hard time with when I started looking to buy watches online was determining how they would look on my wrist. So I decided to make a video comparing how different watches looked on different size wrist. If you're curious how a certain size watch will wear on your wrist, maybe this will help you a bit.

What size watch do you think looks best on your wrist? Please reply and let me know.

I got some friends to help me try on some different watches and see how they look on different wrist sizes. The wrist sizes are: 6.6", 7" and 7.5". The watches we tried on were:

Seiko SNK803 (Similar to SNK 809)
Orient Bambino (Gen 2 Version 3)
    Citizen Nighthawk
    Aragon Divemaster
    Nixon Baja

    And here's the results.

This is just my personal recommendation for what watches look look good on which wrist. Comment if you agree or disagree.

    Interesting.

As I'm sure you know, lug size and shape has a lot to do with how big a watch appears on the wrist. Also, forearm size plays into it, too.

In the end, many people will still obliviously wear watches that are clearly way too large (or too small) for their wrists, claiming it's all about personal preference. Well, yes and no.

We have the freedom to wear whatever we want, but others will notice if we look like Flava on the wrist. You can't change that.

I saw that graphic, and while it was helpful it was also somewhat confusing. I prefer to see actual photos.

interesting, for a 45mm, the Aragon divemaster fits pretty well on a 6.6" wrist.

I recently acquired an Orient Bambino V4. I was surprised how big it was. I did not realize the V4 was a 42mm watch. Almost makes me wonder if they'll change the name. Orient says that upsizing to 42mm makes it fit the trend to wear larger watches. It looks OK on my wrist (7.5"), but wears larger than that because of the domed crystal. I think there's a lot more watch face on a Bambino compared to many other watches, where the face diameter is smaller.

Very interesting and thanks for the good work, it must have taken some effort and help from friends.

I hadn't realized the V4 was bigger than the rest either. I agree, the Bambino seems to wear large, so I imagine that the v4 must seem even more so. I think the Nighthak also wars a little larger due to not having much of a bezel, compared to something like a dive watch. After doing the comparison it was interesting to see the other factors besides case diameter effected how large a watch appears relative to the wrist.

It's true. The domed crystal combined with a dial that fills most of that 42mm. A diver of the same size usually doesn't wear as large.
