    The wristwatch in "Annie Hall"

In this 1977 film there is a scene where Woody Allen is presenting a Christmas gift wristwatch to Diane Keaton. It was something that she had obviously wanted. They only showed it from the back (although you see her wearing it through a window cafe at the end of the movie). It was on a brown leather strap and she was definitely "winding" it. I get the feeling it might have been some kind of field watch, but that is really just my imagination. It was a men's watch. The movie must have been made in 1975 or 1976. So quartz watches were definitely a big thing at the time. However, this was definitely a mechanical winder. Annie Hall dressed in a sort of neo-traditional androgynous "preppy" style, so this may have gone along with that.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this watch might have been?

Nobody? I'm watching Annie Hall right now - I'm interested too!
I've spent my money on women, whisky and watches. The rest I just wasted.

This is one of those "hope someone knows someone who knows" things. The only 2 scenes it's in, it's too far away, and the only clues are its gold, about 32-35mm, mechanical, manual wound, and on a brown leather strap. It would hafta be a real Woody Allen buff who could answer this.

Thanks for responding. I'm thinking it was some kind of "fictional" watch and the actual one shown in the movie might not matter. It was probably something in the vintage style, due to her classic clothing in the movie.

That was actually my original question. What type of watch SHOULD it have been?
    (This was a speculative question.)

FWIW, I remember the movie pretty well, and in my memory of the watch scene, the watch is stored as a Cartier, possibly a tank. But I could be mistaken.

Not a tank Cartier. Not even close.

It appears to be a men's round watch on a brown leather strap. They didn't act like it was expensive.
