    Just asking from way away, but why do ND, SD, NE and CO have parts of the Mountain Time Zone?

    Well you dipstick because they have mountains in them!

    Yeah I get that but does it not make it a bit confusing to have part of one state with different time zones.

    China for instance, only uses one timezone and last time I checked it was wider that all those states put together.

    Just sayin'!

    States all get to do whatever they choose - it's not up to the Federal Government.

    I use time.gov to when setting my watches. Confusing the first few days, but got used to it.
