Are you the "go-to watch person" amongst your peers?

I posted a story last year about helping a co-worker with his Breitling Colt Chrono. He had been running his chronograph non-stop and was going through batteries like crazy. Since then I've had several more people come up to me at work and hand me their watches for basic things like resetting misalligned chrono hands, subdials, etc.
    1. It's AMAZING how FILTHY FREAKING DIRTY some people let their watches get. I mean the Breitling was an absolute mess.
    2. Anyone else have friends or co-workers that come to you for watch related advice and technical help? (I realize some of you are in the business).

Here too. Strap changes/bracelet sizing, springbars, cells, setting digitals, case damage, purchasing advice, and occasionally, my watchmaker(s) will ask for help on their customers' vintage LED/LCD watches. Seems nobody wants to work on those anymore (except fools like me).
PM is not working for me. If you need to contact me, please email. Thanks! popokinui1(at)gmail(dot)com

Funny you should ask. On this coming Monday, I'm taking my watch tools to work to change out the strap on a co worker's Baume & Mercier.

Definately! I end up helping people pick out watches, change batteries, swap straps, take out links, things of that nature.

I just got back from my parents house to celebrate my younger brothers birthday, and he asked me to change the strap & battery on one of his watches- might have to wear it for a couple days before I give it back to him
