You know you have a WIS friend when...

My wife and I are going out to dinner with a couple on Saturday. The guy was my best man about a decade ago. He has a great trio of watches... Rolex Milgauss, a Panerai (pick a 3 digit number) and his newest, an I.W.C. Aquatimer. I asked him to bring the IWC to dinner because he understands that we will be trading watches for the night as we always have. I got an e-mail from him about an hour ago... "I prefer your Speedy on the OEM bracelet.". And so it shall be. Pics to follow.

    Ha! This is great.

I only have one or two buddies that give a hoot about watches and we definitely trade for the evening whenever we go out together. The best is when one of us gets a compliment when wearing the other's watch! That ALWAYS proves for some nice snide glances haha.

Sadly... no WIS friends (close) and I am not sure I could bring myself to sharing. What if you scratched his or visa-versa - accidents happen?! I could see this ending a friendship quickly if this was a NICE watch. I know... friends and all that, but come on!

Friends don't let friends buy G-Schlocks.

You think I'm condescending...?? Do you even know what that means... ??

My life would be sad if I didn't have friends I could trust with a watch...

    We have been trading
watches over dinner and Leaf games for almost 20 years, I think we'll be okay.

if you value your watches more over friends and family, you need to reevaluate your priorities. kudos to the OP and his friend. we are all mature enough to give proper care to our own property as well as others. an incidental scratch and nick here shouldn't be much cause for concerns. after all, aren't onegas and IWCs built to take whatever that life has to throw at it?

Your friend does have a great trio. Switching watches for a night is a great idea! Well done!
