I came across a story on CNN.com today about the North Carolina Department of Revenue holding a public auction to sell off a large collection of jewelry, watches, and related items that were siezed during drug raids. The following quote from the story really caught my attention (I bolded the text):
"...Necklaces, rings and bracelets will be available alongside more unique items, such as a $29,500 Jacob & Co. five time zone watch with a face of sparkling yellow, pink and blue stones forming the continents on a world map. A silver-colored men's Breitling 1884 chronometre watch is listed at $38,000."
I'd really like to see a photo of that Jacob & Co. watch (the only picture in the story was of a gold Rolex men's watch with a diamond bezel...guess they figured that would be more attractive to non-WIS readers ). And about that Breitling..."silver-colored" for $38K?
If there's anyone here who is interested, the auction will be taking place at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, North Carolina this coming Thursday (November 13). Three-quarters of the profits from the auction will go to fund the law enforcement agencies who siezed the items.
