Young collector brand new to Watchuseek!

    Hello all!

I thought I would introduce myself as a new member of Watchuseek. I am a young collector who embarked on this obsession about 12 months ago, although I have always had a keen interest in watches.

After hours of research and deliberation in June 2013 I purchased my first automatic watch, a Longines Master Collection, from Watches of Switzerland in Sydney. It is absolutely fantastic and to me is the perfect dress watch.
Since then I have managed to dig up some family gems. A 34mm Tudor Oyster Prince and a vintage IWC which I plan on posting in the vintage forums to hopefully get some more information.

This Christmas my wife bought me a set of watch tools and I have been keenly fixing a few old Quartz models and ordering straps to experiment with a few looks.

My next watch will be a GMT or Chronograph or Dive on a metal bracelet, there’s too many choices and not enough disposable income to properly decide yet! My favourite brand is A Lange and Soehne but sadly I imagine that will only ever be a dream.

    Exciting times ahead!

    Welcome aboard
    This forum needs more Aussies.
Stock pics don't do it for us, though. When are we going to see some wrist shots of that Longines? Hmmmm?

nice first post my friend and welcome - good choice in the Longines -and two nice family pieces - the IWC is i'm guessing from the 50's and looks exceptional

That is one heck of an entrance :) You've got excellent taste in watches.

As for your love of AL&S watches- work hard, save up & your dream watch will become obtainable one day, especially if you are willing to own a preloved timepiece.

    Welcome!

The longines is absolutely beautiful! Purchased my first automatic at the end of last year, and I must say, once you go auto, it's hard to go back

As for my current collection I owe a lot of it to my Grandfather who has always encouraged my interest. For years and years he has exclusively worn a gold-faced Rolex Datejust bought at Singapore Airport in 1960.
