    Your better half's Collection

If you cut pick a dream collection of 5 watches for your girl what would it be,
my wife will not wear a expensive watch but if she would "let me " buy he one it would be a Rolex,
my list of 5 watches would look like this.

    Rolex Sub 14060
Rolex Datejust yellow gold with dimond dial
    Cartier Tank Gold with Diamonds
    JLC Reverso Gold with Diamonds
VC Overseas Plain Steel Black Dial

Now I see how much money she just saved me

I don't know what full five, but I think I'd just get her a Zenith Star

What I'd like to get for him, because they would suit him so well:

However, the only watch he actually wants is a simple Victorinox quartz on a rubber strap. Such is life.

I'd say my her collection is good enough. I would, however, love to add a reverso to the collection. Or even an AP. But she wears her PAM like 90% of the time, so it would seem rather a waste of $$.
    Final Collection:
    AP RO 15300 (White Dial)
    Rolex Explorer II (White Dial)
    RM 005 WG
    PP 5167A
    AP FC Diver

    Hers:
    Rolex GMT IIc Two Tone
    Cartier Ballon Bleu
    PAM 111

I have a nice Rolex for my wife but usually don't allow her to wear it as she is a ball-buster on watches. So I just bought her a new Bernhardt Ladies Dive watch for her daily beater, and it is really a nice watch. She has smurf-like wrists, but it still had enough adjustments on the bracelet that I was able to size it to her beyond-punny wrists. Came with a nice quartz movement, solid SS bracelet, and a sapphire crystal, all for under $160 bucks. The Rolex can now be stored (hidden) for just special occasions and I can sleep at night once again..........

Found out that when researching women's watches, unlike men's, it is sort of like trying to shop for her for clothes. Overwhelming choices, and just cuz it looks appealing in a pix, it does not always translate into a functional piece for her.

Like women's fashions, some outfits look great on a hanger, but they can really vary in person, especially if she has super tiny wrists and hands. So I really learned alot and noted that there are some major differences when shopping for a ladies watch as opposed to a mens watch. Whole different mindset needed when watch shopping for the wife.

Not sure it that is a good or bad thing........

Do your wife need to ask you when she can wear he Rolex ?
why not used it as much as she can it will only give he more joy that way.

My wife wear all the real good stuff I bought he as often as she can,
use them so they give you the most joy they are made to be used is the way I see it.

I concur. Any wear or abuse can be taken care of during servicing, no?

A few years ago, at a Christmas party, I saw a vintage Milgauss that was beat to hell. The owner, a chemist, had never sent it in for any kind of servicing. I suggested that it could do the watch some good. At a Christmas party one year later, I'd be damned if the Milgauss looked almost new.

I wouldn't presume to pick watches for my wife, who has a mind (and tastes) of her own.

Her collection, which pleases her (and that's all that matters):

IWC da Vinci automatic (her favorite)
TAG Heuer Link two-tone quartz (daily driver)
Raymond Weil Freelancer automatic open balance (occasional watch to match the appropriate outfit)
Rado gold/black ceramic quartz (dress watch)

She even chooses which one to wear, without having to get my permission! ;)
