Your dream two-hand, time only, manual wind wristwatch?

Perhaps a toss-up between, the Patek Philippe 5098R

    Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra-Fine 1955

    A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin

And of course, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control 1833 Ultra Thin ...

    (all images borrowed)

More to come? Let's limit the choice to modern watches ...

My dream of a 2 handed watch would be that it acquire a seconds hand. It's an absolute deal breaker otherwise, no matter how fancy the movement or dial.

Absolutely! There is just something about that sweeping hand, ain't it!?

    The ALS Saxonia Thin.

Breathtakingly simple. I'd like it even more if they moved the name and the "Made in Germany" to the back of the case, and not on the front.

I'd normally agree with you folks for most watches. But when it comes to dress watches, I'm a minimalist. I feel that the more understated and simpler the watch, the better it is. And in that regard, the second hand draws attention to itself by the sweep, and makes the watch look busy.

A clean dial is an unfortunate rarity these days. People are all about shoving everything on the front, and the simple, clean aesthetic seems to have been lost.

Center or sub-seconds hand are fine depending on the style. Not only do they add to the design but they tell the wearer that the watch is running and the time is presumably accurate.

Just open it up, throw some whiteout over it, and you're good to go.

Make mine the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control 1833 Ultra Thin. I don't like date windows and I can do without a seconds hand on a watch that looks that good... However, I'm afraid to ask the price!

Too many watches, only two wrists and never enough time...
