Your opinion on an Orient Star

Hello folks, I've been lurking a while, getting a lot of useful info from the forum. The watch bug was dormant for some time but has recently awakened with the need for a simple, and interesting, black dial on bracelet that can be worn in many different contexts.

This Orient Star standard date (wz0011ac) has struck my fancy. Does anyone have a take on the quality of this model or series that you can share?

Also, what's your general impression on the aesthetic of this dial? Simple? Fussy? Elegant? What were they thinking with those Roman numerals?

    Any opinions welcome.

    Cheers.

Orient star make good watches. They're a step up from Orient.

I like that watch but i don't like roman numerals.

I like the Orient star classic.

They are very good bang for the buck and usually run the shadows of Seiko.

I'm an Orient fan and own one. Orient was founded in 1950 and was one of the top 3 brands in Japan before the Quartz Crisis of the 1970's.

The Orient Star line is a step up from their regular line.

Thanks, guys! I had an OS a long time ago. I thought it was of good quality. Movement was reliable. Sold it to fund something else.

Would love to hear more opinions and impressions on the dial aesthetic of this wz0011ac, which is from the more recent OS standard series; I believe this was released in 2015.

Orient make good watches in general and the Star range can be viewed as comprising good Orients.

The Orient Star Retrograde, in my opinion, is aesthetically, best out there. I wasn’t familiar with Orient, other knowing they’re in-house built.

To fest a feel for the brand, I bought an inexpensive one. As soon as I saw it and it timed to within a fraction of spd, I realized how well Orients are made and ordered the retrograde. Not sorry I did, but so far, haven’t seen another that calls me.
