Your thoughts appreciated re Breitling Transocean Chronograph

Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated. I bought a Seamaster 150 M Co-Axial GMT Chronograph 44 mm (231.10.44.52.06.001)2 years ago and to be honest it wasn't what I walked in the AD to buy. My intention was to buy a Speedy BUT this was in the sale with 30% off and I couldn't resist! I love my Omega and am now looking for a less 'sporty' looking watch (having saved some cash over the last 2 years). I love the look of the Breitling Transocean chronograph (AB015212BA99154A). I've not seen it in the flesh yet and am thinking about taking a trip from the UK to Ace in Amsterdam. Any advice and thoughts would greatly appreciated? THANK YOUName: image.jpg

My money would probably go towards an Aqua Terra or something with a crown on it, but that Transocean is a very nice watch with an in-house movement. If you like it, I say go for it. Just don't buy it without trying it on first.

I have it and have been very satisfied with it. Great movement, great looks & long PR makes a very nice casual wearer.

    Lovely looking piece

But I always advise trying them on first; there must be an AD closer than Amsterdam?! Not that it's a bad excuse to go there, but I can think of better...

    Great looking watch.

Correct me if I'm wrong but does this have the in-house Calibre with a 5 year warranty.

    Another bonus!

Re: Your thoughts appreciated re Breitling Transocean Chronograph

I love mine although i did have some movement issues. First, the hours totaliser didnt line up at 12 so sent in for service. Second, started running slow, around 2 mins per week, sent in for movement service now running at -5sec per month on avg. So far so good.
Fit and finish is first rate, the size is perfect for me and it draws a nice amount of good attention. My only gripe is the long lugs which makes strap selection a pain unless you stick with breitling style thick straps at the lug end. I still have not found a good strap so am sticking with the mesh for now. Mine, and the model geoff posted, is the LE of 2000 so my guess is you will need to pick up on the used market. I personally love the contrasting subdials and chose that over the all black dial, but if i were buying now i would not hesitate to p the t on a black or blue dial. Also as brisman suggests you have an in house movement with 5 year warranty. Highly recommend. Some obligatory wrist shots...

I've been looking at them at my local AD and it's stunning in person. They have a white dial version as well which I think I like even better. One of the few breitlings I really like.

I think it's a gorgeous watch, especially the panda dial.

I think the Breitling Transocean line are fantastic looking watches as are the Heritage Divers.

A lot of Nay Sayers on WUS, too big, too flashy, etc etc.

Great value on the pre owned market, right up there with the other two.
