    Your Watch is Used

So I'm browsing the Private sales area and I find a Doxa Poseidon that the seller claims is "mint".
The seller changed the strap taking off the bracelet.

This seems like a strange thing to do when you are trying to sell the watch as new and unused.

I lost count of how many watches I have seen on ebay that say new in the title listing, then pre-owned in the listing.

Seller will quickly discover the price differential between New/Unused & Mint Condition which will be several hundred $$$...

Completely agreed. I also get annoyed when I read that they have graded the watch a (as an example) 95% on the TZ scale. Ugh. Just give me pictures and be honest about everything that makes the watch not brand new. I don't really care about subjective ratings on some scale by a biased amateur. Sorry, it's a pet peeve. :)

Perhaps there needs to be a sticky with a rating scale which defines exactly what terms such as "New with Tags", "Mint", "Excellent" etc actually are supposed to mean.

There is a universally accepted rating scale from Timezone but it hasn't really been discussed here in years...

    Re: Your Watch is Used

Everyone knows what issues there are with their watches (ie. crown, scratches etc). Just give me the pics showing it all. I don’t buy anything that isn’t thoroughly photographed, period.
