Zenith Defy Classic HMS - what can you tell me about it?

This watch has been growing on me for the past weeks, so I'm thinking that at some point this year in a not so distant future I will buy one of these:

    standard HMS model

    HMS with power reserve

I don't think I will afford any of these from an AD but I've seen these on ebay in new state going from $2750 to $3000+ depending on the model and strap combo.

What do you folks think about these watches? Is the movement reliable? I don't know too much about the movement that powers these watches but I kind of trust Zenith.

I believe the one without the power reserve uses a cal. 680, same as in my watch -

The one with the power reserve would use a modification of the cal. 680 (cal. 685?), should be just a wee bit thicker. The cal. 680 is a very slim movement (3.28 mm thick) as compared to the JLC 896 which is about 3.23 mm (and one of the thinnest ones in regular production, currently). Have had no problems with the movement thus far, runs like a champ (+1 to +2 s/day). Takes a while to build up the power reserve, though.

The cal. 680 is a 4Hz, 26 jewel movement with about 50 hours power reserve, hacks and handwinds.

I like the way the movement looks a lot and frankly this is one of the reasons I'm considering these Zenith watches Moreover, since we are talking about an in-house movement the would be a step up from my current ETA powered automatics.

The higher power reserve is also a bonus for me, I read that these watches have around 55hours of power reserve.

I own that exact watch, and wear it with both the bracelet and oem rubber strap. I absolutely love the watch. Looks great with both casual and dress clothes. Withstood 8 months of abuse and looks great. Accuracy? +.7 seconds per day! hacking seconds hand. Quick change date, which goes both forwards and backwards. And winds oh so smooth. Can't say enough about it.

@edmd: thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

@stuffler,mike: that was the first thing I thought about, but since I'm not quite sure 100% that I really want the Zenith I decided to post in here to get the attention of a somewhat larger audience.

I'm also looking at the Seiko Spring Drive GMT and at some of the Nomos models (mainly at the Tangomat).
