    Zombie threads

What's with resurrection of all these zombie threads lately? Is this an indication that we're running out of new things to discuss? An indication of a collective failure of the imagination? An admission that all the interesting ideas have already been raised? I don't get it.

Resurrections don't bother me as, many old threads still hold valuable information...not to mention nice pictures of watches.

It's not lately, it's been going on for years.

    Re: Zombie threads

It tells me people are using the search function - which some members some to relish admonishing others to do.

It's a sign of the decay of American society. Our teenage girls also now want to date vampires and werewolves… Heaven help us all...

It's confirmation that this is, in fact, an internet forum.

    Re: Zombie threads

Its a catch 22. If someone starts a new thread, they'll get "did you do a search first?". If not, they get grief for bringing up a dead thread.

    Re: Zombie threads

I propose a few potentially refreshing topics for discussion:

"What watch would you wear to your funeral?"

"If you were to climb Mt. Everest, would you wear a Rolex Explorer?"

"Pocketwatch thread. Post your pocketwatches. No wristies allowed."
