    1969 Omega Geneve

    Hey guys

    I recently bought a 69 Omega Geneve.
Happy with the watch, I've had it checked at a local jewelers and he was happy that it was original and in sound order. He was actually quite impressed with the condition..

My question however is that the hand wind seems quite tight, after about 5 or 6 revs it gets stiffer with what seems a little bit of "kick back" on the crown.
Is this normal and if so how many turns should I be putting in per day?
I don't want to over-wind it or damage the mechanism in any way.

Often tight winding means that the oil has congealed and the watch needs a service.

    Cheers

    Hi Desmond

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking that that'd need doing.
Now to try and find and find a reputable place that won't charge me hundreds of pounds....

    Cheers David
