Longines Heritage Avigation BigEye. Since I saw it a few weeks ago at a Longines event I attended hosted by local RedBar, I tried one on that one of the members was wearing. I had to go the next day and find one. Since then, I have come to the conclusion that it's my favorite chronograph of all time. I know that my others will remain locked in a drawer. No disrespect intended to Omega or the Speedmaster, I have had years of pleasure from those watches and continue to admire them. Just have to go where my heart is. And this will save me tons of money! There is only one BigEye model, so there is no choice, if you want the BigEye then this is what you get.

When I saw the 321 yesterday, I thought it is the nicest and best Speedmaster I have ever seen. And I still think that. Even if I come up with the cash, I just know it won't give me the right amount of pleasure. But it is still a most awesome watch!

    Cheers,
    Carl
Carl, I love the big eye chronograph, I owned one for a while. And as much as I loved it, do the lug shape design I personally could never get a comfortable fit with this watch. It seemed to bother my wrists by the way it was designed. Maybe if they made a nice bracelet for it it would have fit better. But good luck with it it's a nice pickup..

I agree with your take on this latest Speedy, Carl. A beautiful watch that I am content to admire from afar.

Having said that, if you are looking to move your Speedy Trilogy, let me know. I've got a family member who has been looking for ages for one of those or a FOIS here in Canada without much luck.

I'm never going to buy one, but I beg to differ. IMO opinion Omega has done a bit more, than just popped a different movement in their regular model:
    - revived the production of a legendary movement long time discontinued
    - recreated 105.003 step dial with applied logo
    - made a sapphire DON-bezel
    - used a vintage style case (already in FOIS, I give you that)
    - used a vintage style bracelet

I think it's kind of cool they created this old Ed White in steel, with all the details that Speedy freaks get nostalgic about. This model is definitely not designed with average luxury consumer in mind.

Still I'm happy with my regular and plain hesalite Speedy.

I like your analysis, it is actually based on you and your taste
this thread has turned into a lot of people that can't afford what they want bash it to justify
hold your emotions for just a minute, I said a lot
if your impression is based on some part that doesn't fit your taste fine, but if it's just based on the price, look elsewhere, lot's of other choices
there are lots of things in life that are not for everyone or in their budget, I like the looks, have had 2 of these in vintage, now I can wear one with a warrantee

I can come to terms with the price somewhat, considering the movement. Though I still find it a hard sell when compared to other current production Speedmasters.

The reason why I wouldn't consider it (other than the fact that it is out of my budget) is because the twisted lugs and crown guard are part of the Speedmaster look I enjoy. Without them it becomes a little bit more like other chronographs for me.

For most it was but I was pulling in the big bucks with my Detroit Free Press paper route as a 14 year old.

Beautiful watch. Have you tried a NATO strap? They actually make larger watches fit better and look a little smaller on your wrist. Here is my 861 on a Strapsco Seat Belt style NATO.

Great to read how happy the Longines makes you. The heart should always win. Also on this forum there isn't much brand snobbery and all brands are welcome

What a watch that is. The dial and texture of the lume just blows me away!

IMO, more special and much cooler than a Daytona. I’m biased though. I own a vintage 105.003-64. But I also own a Daytona.

@bobmredg8 honestly, can't argue that the bond nato and moonwatch just goes really well.
