Its $17,600 in Canada. That's exactly $2,100 more than Cosmograph Daytona in Oyster Steel. Now back to admiring the back side of this baby. Somehow that came out very lewd. :D

I’d text my AD right now saying count me in, but $14kUSD is nuts for a SS Omega! I can get the H. Moser Heritage Center Seconds for that (I’ve been drooling over the pics for past konth)

Hmmmm a non numbered/limited edition piece from Omega that makes the Daytona seem cheap... (as said by Cod)

    What just happened?
Makes the Rolex price increase seem trivial, perfect timing...... nice one Omega ?!?

Also makes my 60th anniversary speedy a bargain in my eyes...

They are pitching this right at the daytona market. If you can actually buy it at 20k AUD then i'm all for it. I suspect there will be a waiting list anyway.

So the 50th anniversary speedmaster was under $10,000 and had a master chronometer certification, anti-magnetic 1821 movement...
It's great and all that this movement is the original 321, but how is it regulated and is it antimagnetic, is a chronometer certified, I don't think so.... For 14 grand it should be....

My thoughts exactly ... a lot of people are saying they are going after the Daytona market here, how so? Other than price being comparable, the Daytona is a better watch, technically speaking. It is made of stronger steel, has an indestructible (at least should be) bezel that won’t fade over time, a more refined and dare I say, better movement in terms of accuracy. I’m sorry but the Daytona also carries the brand value. By no means am I trying to turn this into an Omega vs Rolex debate, but the fact remains Rolex holds better value.

Since this Speedy will be limited to likely 2,000 pieces per year, it will likely hold strong value. Though, I’d be inclined to buy a true vintage 321 at the price these will command on the secondary market.

I’m not sure though that buying the “Ed White” Speedy would give me a joy factor equivalent to the amount it costs in excess to a Speedy sapphire sandwich.

Just my honest $0.02. I buy watches because I like them and want to wear them, bet lots of these go into safes as “investors” will pick up their fair share.
