AD discount on the new Seamaster??

    Morning Omega lovers

A question for you guys in the U.K, a friend of mine is looking to buy the new Seamaster Blue Dial from a UK AD, should he be able to negotiate a discount??

Or are they scarce at the moment and hence demanding full MRSP??

    Thanks for your help

Why not go and just bargain? It's not that they will call a police on him :)

I believe one should bargain for all purchases of high value no matter what the MSRP is.

You can bargain with Omega showrooms in Istanbul. Not that you'll be able to get a good deal but you can get some discount.

20-30% depending on if it's a mom and pop ad or a franchised ad.

    These are absolutely not scarce.

If he wants to purchase from an Omega AD only, you'll probably manage to get 10% (ish).
Iconic watches & Swiss watches direct offer around 10% too.
I've purchased my last two Omega's from an UK grey dealer, got the FULL Omega warranty, all cards correctly stamped & dated etc and got a 25% discount.
I know where I'll purchase my next Omega from.

I wouldn't count on anything like a 30% on a new SMP at an AD or the OB. They're a bestseller, and often out of stock IME, depending on the colour and whether it's on steel or rubber. None of the ADs local to me would do anything more than 5-7% on the SMP or Speedmaster, previous relationships be damned. Still an excellent value for what it offers, and I'd consider 10-12% to be excellent. Or go grey, I guess.

I was able to get mine last year for $4,000 USD out the door, tax free since I bought it over Seas. I did a little wheeling and dealing, plus I walked in with the Seamaster 300m Ceramic.

I think that helped with the negations as it show I was already an Omega owner and broke the ice with the AD sales Rep.

Thanks for the replies, grey dealer it is then.

One in London is offering BNIB with papers (Yes Omega actually give you your warranty card when you buy a new watch) for £3100, £800 off list, so that will be my rec to him.

    Thanks for your help.
