Anyone Ever Magnetized their Seamaster Planet Ocean?

I've been running +1.4 spd, but then when I checked today, the rate has increased quite a bit to around +6 spd. I have an induction cooktop at home, and I wonder if I might have accidentally magnetized it when cooking breakfast. The PO has pretty good antimagnetic features, but maybe not good enough to protect against the fairly strong magnetic field of an induction cooktop. I try to avoid placing it close to the cooktop when in use. I'm going to demagnetize it tonight and see if that helps. I've had my watch about 3 weeks now. The movement is solid as a rock. It almost doesn't matter what position it's in; the rate doesn't hardly change.

The 8500 and 8900 models are a-magnetic and cannot be magnetised. If it’s an older model I guess it’s possible. What version/year is your PO.

it can get magnetized, but the important parts are anti-magnetic.

I have an 8900 manufactured in 2018. That said, I don't believe they are amagnetic, since they only guarantee resistance to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.

This thread would seem to substantiate a PO can become magnetized - supported by quotes and screen shots of Omega servicing notes claiming the watch was magnetized.

Another thought is maybe it was low on power reserve. I didn't wear the watch over the weekend, and it's possible it lost some PR. In addition to wearing it all day long (mostly at my desk), I've manually wound it around 30 winds and we'll see what happens.

If your induction job is radiating more than 15000 gauss I’d be worried. Its probably just power reserve. My 8900 can gain 5s a day if left face up in a watch box, but around a second if worn daily and stored face down or in a winder.

Problem solved. I demagnetized the watch and added about 30 manual winds and that seems to have solved the problem. After some research on induction cooktops, it's unlikely that was the issue. Logically, if the induction oven doesn't magnetize the cookware, then it won't magnetize a watch.
