    Re: Bond Seamaster Reveal

Ok, I had more time to think/read about this watch and still need to see it in person however:

    1) Price. It's too expensive in my opinion. I wouldn't feel I was getting my monies worth if I were to buy it even at grey market prices (assuming 20%). I wont go in to detail, but it has been mentioned in this thread as to value and I don't disagree.
    2) The Arrow has to go on both dial and case back.
    3) HE crown.. yah yah, it's not going anywhere but seriously, it is stopping me from buying any other SMP's although I adore my 2254.50 and I consider it a permanent resident in my collection. I guess I have that one exception. Without the crown I probably would excuse the arrow?
3a.) Come to think of it, I think the HE crown is why I have three AT's and 1 SMP vs the other way around. Who knows...

All that being said.. even though I am probably in the minority on this, I love the way it looks for the most part. I know Fauxtina is the devil now-a-days, but I don't mind it on this watch.

It ships on the current Railmaster, but can be bought from Omega.

Looks cool for purposes of the movie, but I wouldn’t buy it, especially at the crazy price point (USD $9,200 MSRP on shark mesh.) I would much rather have the stainless steel SMP in any of the dial colors. Trailer looks good, by the way. Excited for the movie

I've never been in to the bond watches, but they nailed this one. I'm on the fence about the mesh bracelt, though.

    Re: Bond Seamaster Reveal

I hope they keep this in the films for 8-10 years like the 2531. Omega needs to slow down and let their designs cook a bit.

That said, a date version of this watch in steel at $5K would be AWESOME. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to retrofit the existing steel seamasters with the bezel (love that lume!), dial, and solid caseback.

Anyone know what those numbers on the back are for? Is this a non-limited but numbered watch, or is that stuff just supposed to replicate a military style inventory tracking system?

Good to see Omega taking it's aesthetic style ideas from the much more popular and famous Seiko 5 sport..... I kid but funny coincidence

I like both watches very much, never had an issue with fauxtina, if it looks good it looks good.

    Re: Bond Seamaster Reveal

I would have to see it in person like many others, but at the price it would really have to sing to me. I have only seen one ‘aged’ lume that seemed to work so I would have to be persuaded. I like the look of the bracelet, but have not bought other watches where the strap was either the best thing in the package or not fitting for the cost of the whole package. I like the use of the arrows to reflect that Bond was in the British military. We shall see .....
