Looks like Omega may have finally found a way to raise the price of the Moonwatch...

I don't see why they should be. It doesn't make the originals any less rare or unique. If the only reason you're buying a vintage Speedmaster is for the movement then you're doing it wrong in my opinion.

I see almost no chance this movement won't be restricted to a limited edition, at least for the foreseeable future. From the press release, they don't have a dedicated assembly line for this movement so each one will stay with the same watchmaker from start to finish. That's not going to happen for a standard production watch from Omega.

Considering all the new 321 movements are going to be assembled by a single watchmaker, and knowing Omega's fondness for milking the Speedy teat, I think the price will be more than a Daytona.

Perfect timing. I recently sold my speedy pro hoping for something nice to come out of its 50th anniversary. The 321 reborn is beyond nice, I must say. Thanks for the heads up!

Only those who buy watches as an investement may be upset, those who love watches in general and the Speedmaster in specific will be very happy

This is fantastic! I can't wait to see the final product. I must give credit where it is due, since Raynald took over Omega he's implemented some great watches into the line up. Can't wait to see whats to come.
