The development costs will need to be repaid and if they are only producing a limited run, then it stands to reason that the watches will not come cheap.

I do wonder where the market is for these watches. To the majority of people, they won't care (too much) what is inside the watch. They will be interested in 4 things - 1st that it is an Omega and a perceived high end watch, 2nd that it looks nice, 3rd how much it costs and can they afford it and finally 4th, would a Rolex be better?

For the WIS, they will think "Oh yes, a 321", and then "How much!".

Of course Omega probably know what they are doing and they will push the heritage of the movement as a big selling point, but IMO, for the money, you would be better off buying an original for quite a bit less.

so, they figured it out, a special edition of a "limited edition"
wait till they figure out the one last trick, "adjusted movement"
yeah they did a few more in the Seamasters, but a few Speedmasters snuck through, not certain but seems like a random grab and since there were none in the regular cart thy went to the adjusted cart, on the bridge is "adjusted two 2 positions"
not certain but don't recall any other chronographs "adjusted" in the very early 60's

    Awesome.
So do you think the situation regarding parts availability for refurbishment of vintage pieces is likely to change because of this announcement?

I can't see it happening any differently than it is currently. At least in the short term.

I'm amazed that some think this reissue will affect the value of original 321s negatively.

If anything, I'd expect them to rise.
