Yes no negative effect, opposite, 321's from the 60's will go up in price.

My concern is different.....I had to wait 18 months for my Apollo 17 Yellow Gold 45th Anniv, so for this one (probably the Apollo 11 50th) How long will we have to wait ?!?......

I think the new 321 is really only a positive thing.

If you don’t like whatever they release it in, then there are always other options to buy.

Would be tough to say no to a new moonwatch with the 321 though, obviously depending on price. If the goal is to simply ‘own’ the 321, a vintage Lemania might be another option to go with as well (aka slightly cheaper). Seen a few nice examples floating around lately.

Yes perhaps but I doubt even Omega is talking about new 321 movement, the parts will be 2 ways interchangeable between the 2 models, the new and the Vintage 321....I am sure not.

I can't see it happening any differently than it is currently. At least in the short term.
I don’t think anything will change...

As has been mildly discussed earlier, what ARE the increase development costs, really? The 321 is based on the Lemania Calibre 2310, which has NEVER been put out of production. All Omega has to do is reverse engineer those Lemanias and re-make versions of their own. If they incurred large costs doing so, then perhaps they'd need to rethink the proficiency of their staff.

where do you find one for less? the 321 prices are not anywhere near the bottom, any pre moon is premium, even 68-69 861 powered ones
if they go really out of the world on their price, then you will be vindicated, lol

I do wonder where the market is for these watches. To the majority of people, they won't care (too much) what is inside the watch. They will be interested in 4 things - 1st that it is an Omega and a perceived high end watch, 2nd that it looks nice, 3rd how much it costs and can they afford it and finally 4th, would a Rolex be better?

For the WIS, they will think "Oh yes, a 321", and then "How much!".

Of course Omega probably know what they are doing and they will push the heritage of the movement as a big selling point, but IMO, for the money, you would be better off buying an original for quite a bit less.

Re: Calibre 321 Back In Production

Exciting news! Rumors from other blogs and forums are that this new cal 321 will not be powering any of the Apollo 11 50th LE's, may initially make its appearance in a gold LE, then in a regular production, although limited, stainless steel Speedmaster model. Rumors also have suggested the SS model will be about the price of the DSOTM, which runs $12K.

Take my money now for the new 321 powered SS Speedmaster please.
