    Challenger deep

Looks like Omega are now the deepest divers albeit on the inside of the vessel ;)

Apparently, there is a new Omega dive watch in the 'pipe-line'. Water resistant to a depth of 7 miles.
Probably be a limited edition model.

Actually, I saw the watch today it is a reality. The watch was named the "Ultra Deep" by Omega - it says that in blue letters on the dial face. I wrote more about it on my thread in the Rolex section if interested.

Bragging rights. They will now (or when it's officially released) be able to claim that they have beaten Rolex at their 'own game'.

I meant more like why would someone spend the kind if dollars required when the only possible way to "need" it is in a special submarine that only a handful of people in the whole world would even have the opportunity to be in. (And it probably has a clock in it too)

Some people like solidly built dive watches. I had a DSSD for 7 years, I never even went swimming in it. Thing is, I didn't buy it for that reason. I purchased it because I liked
the over engineered aspect to it. The fact that it could withstand the hostile environment 3900 meters down, it was an engineering masterpiece.

I now have a Sub, that's water resistant to a 'mere' 300 meters and I wont go diving in that either!!!
Just like people who buy the Omega Speedmaster, most of those will never venture into space.
