Unless I have a time machine my comments above are true. In fact the estimate from Switzerland was in excess of $3,500. Crazy no matter the condition of the watch.

Here are the pictures of the watch. I hope I attached them correctly. What would be the estimate for the servicing of the watch and to whom do you think I should sent it/take it if they live near me? Thanks!!

That watch looks like it's in fine shape and shouldn't have to go back to Omega. Find a local watchmaker (not a jeweler or mall kiosk) and have them service the movement and replace the crystal. Tell them not to polish the watch or change any external parts without contacting you first. The dial, hands, case, crown are all in good shape.

For a service like that it should be a few hundred dollars and the watch will run fine for many more years. Put it on a nice leather strap and enjoy wearing it.

EDIT - I googled "watchmakers in franklin tennessee" and found a list of jewelry place and mall kiosks, but then I also saw "Trenary's Watch and Clock Repair". I'd go there and ask if they have a watchmaker on site. If so, you should be able to talk to him (and yes, they are almost exclusively some old guy) about your watch. He should be able to give you a price quote and time estimate to repair. If they send out their work, I'd pass unless you can find out who they send it to. While I wouldn't go to a jeweler to fix your watch, if they sell fine watches, they will usually have someone locally that does their work, and often they will tell you who that is.

Bottom line, don't give the watch to anyone to repair without talking to them directly. If you wind up sending it to someone in another state, you should be able to call and talk to them first. Be explicit that you don't want any cosmetic changes, and that you would like all the old parts back.

    Good luck!
