Help - SMP Black or Blue dial?

I’m debating between the new SMP in either black or blue dial. Love both. Want both. Can’t have both. No need to point out the obvious; I realize it’s usually just a matter of preference. However, I’m stuck. Just looking for your honest input on the comparison and any merits of either color dial. Please help me with my pathetic first world problem...

If you have a couple/few watches, get the blue. If it's your only watch, I think black will go with everything and stay in style forever. Also, you can pair almost any strap with the black if you like playing with straps.

Definitely agree with this. The initial impact of that stunning blue will blow you away but its so distinctive it may jar on your eyes if its a daily wearer. The black option tames down the funky dial a bit and makes it more versatile. The grey is lovely but again as an occasional wear or in a rotation. I say this as the owner of the grey AT which is pretty much the same colour scheme.

Factor your profession into the mix. Black dial is more classic and versatile, blue dial is just straight up gorgeous

My first nice watch was the "electric" blue seamaster (2255.80). I wore it for 15 years as my main piece. I now lean more towards the black dial, 3 hand watches for legibility. And the fact that black goes with everything. So if this is your ONE watch, go with the black. If looking for a bit of "different" in your collection? go with blue.

Thanks all for the insight. I’m convinced that while the blue would blow me away in the short run, the black would win in the long run and is likely the better choice for me. I’m tempted on the white dial, too, but as Wesley Snipes once said: “Always bet on black.“

Get the black if it's your one and only watch.
