I’ve had both models and I don’t think you can go wrong with either. You can remove the scratches off the hesalite crystal easily with polywatch.

Head-on, you'd never know. so the 60+ year-old watch is doing fine. A brand-new Speedy will also do fine with hesalite.

I'm really glad Omega offers both versions, frankly, specifically to cater to people's preferences.

I might eventually get a display back, but I really like the hippocampus + engraving.

Oh, other thing which applies to sapphire or hesalite models and this new owner just learned: It's really light when you remove the bracelet and put it on a strap! Surprisingly so.
I totally agree with what you say about Omega offering choice. One of the things I can’t stand about Rolex. They give you zero choice; it’s take it or leave it. So glad Omega still sell the hesalite version. They could have easily phased it out and kept only the sapphire sandwich. Props to Omega. They obviously care about their customers.

I have owned both. 3573 sapphire sandwich and now a 3594. I like the hesalite more as it has a warmer tone. Having said that...please try both on. Make a few visits to the store and try em on each time. Then get the one that speaks to you most and enjoy the watch!

But I still can't decide between the 2 versions.
I'll be purchasing new to get the full Omega warranty and have found the watch at a nice discount.
Now, I know all the arguments, pluses, minuses for both and I'm still at a loss.
Tell me something I haven't heard in the "Hesalite vs Sapphire" debate please.
For those of you who have owned both versions, I'd especially like to hear from you.
Anything to help make the decision easier will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm going for a hesalite crystal when I buy one.

Hesalite is so much fun to stare at- love the distortion.

You really don’t need to give it to them esp out or warranty. Just Polywatch it.

Hesalite gets my vote. The classic, but I will say you will be buffing scratches. Bank on it.
