Hesalite vs Sapphire; Still Can't Decide

So, I'm getting close to purchasing a Speedmaster Pro, really close!
But I still can't decide between the 2 versions.
I'll be purchasing new to get the full Omega warranty and have found the watch at a nice discount.
Now, I know all the arguments, pluses, minuses for both and I'm still at a loss.
Tell me something I haven't heard in the "Hesalite vs Sapphire" debate please.
For those of you who have owned both versions, I'd especially like to hear from you.
Anything to help make the decision easier will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

What have you heard so far and why are you getting a Speedy? Just curious as it might impact your decision

Have you tried them both on your wrist? Only you can decide which one YOU will prefer.

I personally prefer the hesalite, does that sway what watch is better for you?

Get the Sapphire, more durable and you get to see the movement under it.

If buying brand new I’d go with sapphire as this would be consistent with the latest and greatest sum of materials on this classic watch.

If buying used, not your case, I favor hersalite because it makes it more consistent with yesteryears.

My sense is that when you get such a piece from the AD you want to keep it as pristine and safe as possible and knowing that sapphire is the hardest material only second to diamond beings a piece of mind that acrylic doesn’t give you.

Whatever you choose you’ll love, it I’m sure! Congratulations!!

I'm getting a Speedaster Pro because:
    - I love the look; simple utility that's beautiful; symmetry unspoiled by a date window
    - I am fascinated by chronographs
    - Automatic chronographs are too thick (had a MK II that I loved but it became tiresome to wear due to its thickness)
    - I love the quality of Omegas I've owned in the past

    What I've heard so far:
    - Hesalite scratches but is easy to polish out
    - the Hesalite version is "THE OFFICIAL MOON WATCH
    - the Hesalite version will save me approx $1K
    - the Sapphire version is mostly impervious to scratches
    - the Sapphire version allows viewing of the movement
    - The Sapphire version has a milky white ring around its outer perimeter
    - The Sapphire version allows a totally clear view of the dial, while the Hesalite version has been described as having a "warmer" look to it (could somebody please describe this to me)

    What else can you add?
Most likely, I'll show up at the dealer, try both on, look at both with critical eyes, and make a decision on the spot.
    Help me out here folks!
    Thanks again

Hesalite looks quite a bit better to me, I would get it for this reason.

If you are trying to replicate the Moon watch, the actual watch worn during the landing, then you would go with the hesalite. Less durable but can be polished within reason back to clear. If that is not the driving reason for the watch then go with the Sapphire as it is difficult to scratch but has a different look on the edge. I went for the sapphire with the exhibition back as mine was not a purchase to get the moon watch but a watch I fell for when I was young before the landing. As stated above you need to try them on and see what works for you. You really can not go wrong as both are classic and what I see as beautiful watches.

I don't have this kind of Speedy but I own the FOIS which has sapphire crystal. I was between mine and the original Speedy Pro hesalite edition. I am happy I went with sapphire because this is my daily wearer and although I really take care of it I don't want to have always in my mind the crystal. Being used to wear watches with sapphire crystals only, wouldn't make this transition easy. Also I like a lot the AR coating on sapphire crystals.

Re: Hesalite vs Sapphire; Still Can't Decide

Honestly, how often do you look at the movement? It's the dial that is visible all the time and the Sapphire version has a milky ring around the outside of the dial which spoils it for me. The Hesalite doesn't have this, makes for a much nicer feel. Once you've seen this, you can't unsee it.

I suggest trying on both versions at your AD/OB and just getting a feel for them.
