Apologies, stupid double post.
Really cool that Hodinkee was able to do a collab for their 10th anniversary. But at the same time to have Omega do another limited edition just makes me wonder what they’re thinking. Hodinkee is cool and all but I was shocked to see Omega and Hodinkee teaming up, you wouldn’t see Rolex do something like that. But then again Rolex and Dominos exist. Didn’t think Hodinkee had the cachet yet to team up with the big leagues, which makes me think how big league Omega really is.
The original has always been one of the cheaper used Speedies - that might very well change now...
Speaking of price, itís pretty crazy that this H10 is several hundred dollars more expensive than the three beautiful steel 2020 Tokyo Pros...
I like the look, but if they're going to take liberties like the Arabic numbers (which I like a lot) and that blue seconds subdial and two-sided second hand, why not add something functional like a rotating bezel? I understand that it's not a dive watch, but neither was the Flightmaster and there are plenty of ways that a rotating bezel can come in handy outside of diving. Meanwhile, IMO, the tachymeter is a useless vestigial remnant from an era when racetrack crews didn't have wireless speedometers linked to their cars and before the Speedmaster was even considered as a pilot's watch.
I kinda like it.....except for the large Arabic numerals. Those spoil it for me.
I could stop buying watches, but I'm no quitter.
