I think it looks like a hot mess. The blue/black indicator and plane tip date pointer belong on the MK40, not an 861. The extra minute track makes it look crowded. Why not rerelease the triple date with some stupid overpriced Hodinkee straps (in the style that they "popularized")?
If they release a TGV limited edition I'm going to vomit.
Personally I like this one a lot. I currently own a FOIS and it is honestly making that watch feel very boring and dated.
It is a fun and cool watch with nautical colors that feels very fresh and different like nothing else on the market.
Don't get all the hate over at the Omega forums but to each his own. I know more people who love it than hate it IRL.
Maybe it appeals much more to the the next generation of watch collectors. We will see.
They gone! One classic that did not need to be "re-issued."
how many LEs have been released this year?! this one is surely the worst of the lot - not because it's linked to hodinkee but it just hasn't been executed very well. too busy and a lot of the 'features' the colours are supposed to replicate from the MK40 are completely redundant, such as the day/night blue black at the 9 subdial.
Too expensive but I love it. I think a tropic strap would fit it very well.
