I have owned multiple Aqua Terras during the last few years, from the 36 and 39 MM coaxial 2500 series in silver, blue and white dial with blue hands (2503.33), the 39 MM quartz (SS/18k), the 38.5 MM quartz (various dial colors), the 38.5 MM first 8500 series coaxial (Skyfall and white dial with small diamonds) and the 41 MM 8500 first series coaxial (golf edition). Each of them were flipped, but always keep getting back to the Aqua Terra line as think is a very nice model line which fills the gap between purely dress (Deville) and purely sport (Seamaster Prof / Planet Ocean) models on the Omega roster.
I have always loved titanium watches due to being lightweight and under the radar and last year realized Omega has an Aqua Terra series of watches, under the Good Planet Foundation collaboration, in titanium: a 43 MM GMT and a 38.5 MM model, both with white dials and blue indexes, pretty similar to the 2503.33 model from the original Aqua Terra series. I tried the 38.5 MM on my local Boutique (in both titanium bracelet and blue cordura) and found them very nice,
but at the time did not gave serious consideration to it:
Am in the process of consolidating my watch collection, looking to have a smaller rotation and less redundant pieces. A recent hunt by fellow member Dan (Solesman) for a 38.5 MM Skyfall (which he sold a while ago and just re-purchased) and some enabling by him decided to include an AT Good Planet as part of my revised collection and start my own hunt for a full set on the bracelet for a reasonable price. Last week found a good deal for it so here it is!
Love the lightness of the watch on the wrist, the visibility of the dial is amazing and has a nice lume as well. The master coaxial / anti magnetic 15k gauss rating is frosting in the cake! I wan't sure about the polished center links as liked the look of the fully brushed bracelets found on the older 2500 AT's and the first generation 8500 AT's but so far think it goes well with the watch polished bezel and dial color.
I was thinking modding it with a blue Skyfall dial to have a titanium Skyfall but since already have a nice blue dial on my Daydate:
Think will remain as it is!
