Which to keep: Planet Ocean 8900 or 2019 Seamaster 300mm 8800

    Hello all,

My current collection consists of all 3 modern Omega divers:

    - Planet Ocean 8900 Black on strap
    - Planet Ocean 8900 Blue on strap
    - Seamaster Diver 300m 8800 black on bracelet

All 3 were purchased this year, new, by me from ADs. I could use the extra $$ and I'm thinking about selling the two POs and just keeping the Diver 300m. To be honest I seem to wear the 300m more, but I would hate to sell the "superior" watch and be in regret. Is the extra water resistance (for someone who can't even swim) and extra 5 hours power reserve enough to justify keeping one of the POs while selling the other PO and 300m? Obviously I'm naturally inclined to want to keep the "superior" watch, if there even is one out of these three, but I'm not sure which watch that is at the moment so I'm looking for some direction from you guys. Any help is appreciated!

You look like a strap guy. But the bracelet on the 300m might be the reason you wear it more. My only knock against the 300m is the OEM strap. Feels cheap IMO compared to those POs.

I don't own any of those, but here's my thought on tool watches:
Depth rating: doesn't matter as long as it's over 100m, unless you are actually diving. At 100m you are getting humidity and hand washing protection.
Power reserve: only matters if you don't wear it for that much time.

I’d only keep what I wear. Both models are excellent. If I recall, the 8900 movement however allows for adjusting the hour hand without stopping the watch, like a GMT. Very useful if you travel a lot.

I had PO 8900 Blue and Black and they are gone.
I now have the 2018 SM 300 in Black.
I realised while the PO looks very modern for a diver watch (which I like) it's also very thick (which can get tiresome)

So I sold them and enjoy now the comfort of the SM300.

    The black looks stunning

Keep the SMP300! It's the better watch for the money and CEO claims its been tested to 425m! What more do you need!

I would keep the SMP, too. I absolutely love mine (shown below). If you wanted to pair it up with another Omega, an AT would be a better, more versatile match, I think.

I'd say keep the SMP and sell the other 2 just based on the comment that you wear the SMP more. Are you trying to narrow down your collection? How about selling one PO and replacing it with an Aqua Terra?

Keep the one you wear the most.
