Nice @bubbaxb ! My experience is similar. My wife gifted me a 3570.50 in 2012. Since then I’ve had a number of speedys come and go. I’ve tasted all the flavors. Modern, vintage with different patina, now dabbling in modifying!

In the pic, the bottom center one is “The Wife” which remains my beloved daily!

    Such an expensive hobby!!!

One can only dream of a collection like yours. Very nice. You’ve taken a “why not both” mindset lol.

Agreed with the consensus-- the modern bracelet ruins the Speedy. At least it's an easy fix.

Horses for courses. My steel bracket came off the Speedy the week I bought in and hasn't been back since.

Haha! Well...why not both?? But really, I should thin the herd and selectively release to good homes. Sadly they don’t all get enough wrist time. There are days where I admire each one, then strap the wife back on...

I've yet to own a Speedy, but if I was to get one, I have always been tossing up between getting:

    1. a modern 3570.40 Japan Racing (I love the orange and grey racing dial) or TinTin; or
    2. a vintage 145.022, 145.012 or 105.012 with a pulsation bezel.

I love the uniqueness of the Racing dial of the modern Speedy, but I think ultimately, I would prefer the nice creamy or yellow patina on the tritium hands and hour markers and the character of a nice unpolished vintage Speedy. Getting an authentic old style pulsation bezel is going to be tricky, as they're few and far between.

Re: Moonwatch- Modern vs Vintage (my experience)

I started my Speedy journey 3 years ago with a 3572.50 hesalite/sapphire sandwich from around 2002. I liked it but sold it a year later to get another watch. A few months later I had a yearning for another Speedy and this time went with the modern hesalite version. I liked it a lot but wasn’t crazy about the bracelet at all. Plus the huge box it came in was an unnecessary annoyance. Wound up trading it, knowing I could always get another one, but next time on a leather strap.
Three months later I was missing having a Speedy. I almost picked up another modern version there and then, but after we couldn’t agree on a price with the seller I decided to take a look at vintage. Boom! A few weeks later I picked up an amazing 1988 145.022 on a 1450 bracelet, in great shape. I’m in love with it and it would be hard to imagine parting with it.
So my journey has been very similar to yours.
