New Bond SMP Quartz Price vs Previous Models?

Hi, I would like to check with you guys if you know of any price increase of the new BOND quartz SMP over the previous ones (I mean those without the red Seamaster wordings)? I know the automatics version price increase is about USD 900 by just changeing the cosmetic appearence and the co-ax movement. Hmm, I don't see the justification to increase the price of the quartz model.

The price increase for the Bond chrono, that got the same face lift job (red lettering, longer hands, applied markers and logo) was around $300. My guess is that for the quartz you can expect the same.

Nothing change but just for the "facelift" isn't worth to buy it at all. Agree?

At least for the new bond SMP chronometer, it did come with a co-ax which can justify the overall increase but not for the quartz

Back then it retailed for $1750 US, and the current quartz model retails for $1850 US. In just 2 1/2 years, the price of the quartz has surpassed the price of the auto.

    The 2531.80's prices:

prior to 2004 price increase: $1750
    after 2004 price increase: $1895
    after 2005 price increase: $1995
    after 2006 price increase: $2150

So, the auto went up $400 in 2 years, and now it's been replaced with the more expensive co-axial model. I'm sure more price increases are on the horizon, given Omega's desire to move more "upscale".
Alright ...from what you said, it seems like omega is following Rolex's steps. Interesting Thanks for the info John
