The OEM rubber is incredible - I have the same color combo (silver face/blue bezel) and thought I didn't like the look on the bracelet, but this thread has me considering buying an SMP bracelet to compliment the rubber. Handsome and stylish!

    Enjoy!

I recently discovered the new 2019 SMP and I like the subtle changes (with the exception of the larger case). I sold my 2254 a month ago thinking that someday I will get another when they release an updated 2254.

I think it’s safe to say that they won’t re-introduce a new version of the 2254. Get the new SMP in black.

Don’t worry about the larger case too much. The lug to lug distance might be 50 mm but it is a true 50 mm – the bracelet is articulated so as to not go beyond with the lugs. It fits a small rest just fine. My wrist is 6 1/2 inches. It is also marginally thicker however it is still a thinnish diver.

I almost bought one a few weeks ago but I just could get past the helium escape valve and the ZrO2 on the dial - one of them i coulda worked with, but both ... just couldn't unsee them and do it.

So close though! i bought a Sinn U2 instead.

Can honestly say I've never noticed the Zr02 on the dial except under magnification, and have grown strangely attached to the HeV, which I often use as a high-precision fidget toy in meetings.

Same - I have to look really hard to see the Zr02

Yeah, the Zr02 never bothered me either. Barely notice it. The HeV is something that is par for the course on the SMP/PO — dumb but doesn’t bother me.

Tried the new SMP at an AD sometime back and couldn't believe they made the HeV even bigger/prominant. Looks great and would look even better with a tapering bracelet :)
