Omega Seamaster 300 Automatic, good price?

I'm thinking of buying my first Omega. Since the 2018 model has hit shelves and the older model is being discontinued, my AD has the older model on sale for $3600 out the door, including tax. What do you guys think of this price? Should I buy used instead? How frequently do these watches need servicing. The sales lady tells me that the coaxial movement doesn't need to be serviced as frequently as other automatics. Anyone care to share their experiences with the cost of owning these watches?

Here is the reference number of the watch I'm looking at: 212.30.41.20.03.001

Comes in both blue and black dial and bezel.

    Thank you!

I don't think it's a good deal. Same one with warranty till 2024 was sold on forum for $2600, full box and papers in mint condition. So I really don't see why you would want to pay $1000 more from the AD. for $3600, i'd rather save a bit more and get the new SMP300. Personally, i like the new design and tech much betters.

I think it's not a bad deal at all actually. I once bought a 4-5 year old SMP 300 and owned it for about 2 years. It was still running very well until I sold it, so definitely longer time intervals between servicing than the typical 5-year interval.

Hard pass IMO. Shoot for 2800 to 2900 max.

A quick search on watchrecon reveals that these are selling for between 2200 and 2600 in good condition. 3600 seems high IMO

When new, prices do seem to be a bit higher than they were before the 2018 model was released.

I was shopping this model recently and the best gray market price for a new piece I could find was $3300 shipped.

I see one on chrono24 now for just under $3200 shipped.
