Any chance of a picture of the back of the ceramic bezel, just curious to see how it looks, does the ceramic sit completely on a solid piece of metal or whether any of it floats.

Hi, don't have the tool to remove the bezel assembly. Here a few more pictures of the case (3 of them shown)

Omega SMPc vs. SMP 2531.80 (mainly thickness)

You know to each there own on there watch. Your money, the way you want a watch to look etc etc. BUT are we now treating Omega like Seiko watches where everyone wants to mod them? You honestly think your making (others) Omega look like a prestigious brand??? A watch to own??? To me it seems that your making the brand look less. I never want to compare Omega to Rolex but do you see threads as much as Omega where people are modding them? I think not.

I'm sure it's going to turn out nice but I'm not a fan. I'd rather stick to the original and be happy with it and pass it on. Plus if you need it fixed (unless you do it yourself) pretty sure Omega will not touch it. Of course these are just my humble thoughts.

    Good luck!!!

I don't send my watches to Omega unless they are in warranty (use private watchmen for servicing them), so not worried about not having Omega "touching" my watches !!.

    Thanks for the good wishes!

I looked at the mid size 2531 but went for the regular 2220 in black as it was in so much better condition and preferred the size and colour for a few hundred £ more. Plus it was a 2014, probably one of the last ones before the ceramic.

Thought again about going to the blue but there'd be no difference trading down to a 2531 with a dealer's margin in there surely?

Just to add that I'm a little bit disappointed that the ceramic can be had for the same price. Although I could live with the font but not the plain face. I suppose the only thing you could tell me that would make me regret my choice would be that the ceramic bezel is invincible...

Hi guys, sorry for digging up this thread. I have the Seamaster 2531.80, made in 1986 (based on the serial number), the hour and minute hands is oxidised and the lume is not working. If I send it to Omega for service can they replace the hands?
I just want to keep the original aesthetic of the watch...
