Thanks for the write up. The 39mm in my mind is about perfect. I was always in a spot where I preferred a 36mm dress and large dive watches. Finding that I am no longer really wearing my MM300 or Spring Drive tuna due to the size. Great pick up, enjoy! I am going to have to look into these a bit now!

Just picked up a previously owned 39.5, looked for a long time and came up with a great deal. The size is comparable to my SKX and is perfect for my wrist size.

Love the display back and first check has it running +4.5 secs, couldn't be happier.

The PO 8800 ticks many boxes. For size I chose the PO 8900. However, my son’s got the 39.5 mm on his short (grail) list.

I did have my heart set on a Speedmaster, which I could have bought new for the same price but when weighing the pros and cons, the Seamaster PO just kept coming up as a better watch IMHO. Hesalite is cool for the authenticity but scratches pretty easily and I was planning on wearing it daily. The Liquid Metal bezel on the PO seems bulletproof in that regard too. Display back is a plus for me and the Speedy is nowhere near as waterproof. If I hit the lottery I can always pick up a Moonwatch

The 39.5mm looks like a great size! The 42mm is indeed quite big and wears even larger. This 39.5 seems to wear more like the 40mm sub does it not?

When I tried on the 39.5mm I felt that it wore much smaller than the SubC for example. I've owned numerous 40mm watches and it felt/looked smaller than all of them. In my (somewhat limited) experience, I've always felt the Planet Ocean wears smaller than its listed size due to the lug-to-lug length and the geometry of the case.

That makes sense; the PO 39.5 has a bezel width of 38.5mm, iirc. And, the Subc case makes it wear more like 42mm, imo.

Congrats on the PO 8800 and great review, Daniel.

I have 6.5" wrists and am pretty sure 39.5mm would fit my wrist. Just have a few questions though. Your wrist size? Lug to lug? And is it truly 14mm in height? I was hoping for less. I have a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba at 41mm and a height of 14mm. Looks a bit tall for my wrist but its manageable.

    Thanks.

I don't feel it wears tall at all, less clunky than my SKX 009. And yes it does measure up at around 14mm thick overall.
