Great thread here gents! I recently acquired a 39.5 PO but in black. I prefer the blue as it is my favorite color but the black popped up for a deal I couldn’t refuse.

When it comes to comments of losing time. I put my watch on my timegrapher and identified that resting 12 o’clock down at night net me an overall daily timekeeping of slightly less than +1 per day. Perhaps experiment with the rest position to see if you can speed it up.

The size is great for my 6.3-6.5in wrists. Anyone looking for IMO the most wearable Po, look no further. Great piece. Especially on the gray/secondary market, dollar for quality is unmatched by any brand.

Anyone want to trade blue for black?

I think logistics of avoiding customs on s straight swap may stop my trade

I understand what you mean. I have always enjoyed blue more than black but many feel the opposite.

Too bad you aren’t stateside. Fly over and we will swap!

For those of you who traded, was it a private party trade or was an AD willing to trade?

Re: Planet Ocean 39.5mm blue dial - my first Omega

A quick update about my Planet Ocean: I recently noticed that the crystal has a bunch of swirls / fine scratches on it. It wasn't visible all the time, but in the right light, it was very obvious once I started noticing it. Looked like it had fingerprints all over it, except that they wouldn't come off.

I did a bit of online research and learned that the PO's crystal is AR coated on both sides. I didn't know that it had coating on the outside until then. So the scratches made sense (I don't baby my watches). Since it was hard to "unsee" the scratches at this point, I decided to remove the outer AR coating. Based on some posts by Archer, I bought 0.5 micron diamond paste, and rubbed it on the crystal. At first I just used my finger, but then switched to a microfiber cloth so I could apply a bit more pressure. Took me about 5 minutes of rubbing to get the coating off.

The crystal does look a little different now, and depending on the light the PO has lost a little bit of contrast as there is more reflection on the outside of the crystal. The scratches are gone though, and I prefer it this way.

Other than this, the Planet Ocean is still working great and I'm still very happy with it.

i love the blue so much, it's such a refined and grown up blue compared to the 2531's that I'm used to.
