For 3K, you've had a right result OP, the best version of the best looking Planet Ocean.

Planet ocean liquid metal limited edition

Reality is it looks OK and checks out as far as I can tell on a 1:1 comparison. but until you look under the hood you will never really know for sure.

    Cheers

Curious if OP ever resolved his concerns with respect to the authenticity of this watch?

    All is well.
Frustratingly, I haven’t had my hands on the watch yet. My brother took delivery of the watch for me, dropped it into a boutique in London and it all checks out.
They didn’t take the back off but checked watch and ran the serial numbers and all is ok.
They said that for about £50 they will re-issue some kind of certificate or card for it so I might do that.
Getting a box for it would probably be nigh on impossible but for what the watch cost, i cannot complain.
I am eagerly waiting to collect it from him when I fly back over there next week.

I hadn’t forgotten the thread. I was going to wait until I had collected it before updating.
I’ll post some photos once I’ve got my grubby paws on it.

great catch - you did well -
I would definitely get the Omega proof card/certificate - official authentication can only add value & aid further sale if, as n when

I think Omega stopped issuing the replacement cards, but any kind of certificate is worth taking it. £50 sounds like a bargain imo.
Very glad to hear it has a happy ending, wear it well!

Glad all seems to have worked out OK. I would get the card it is a small price to pay and will be handy if you do ever sell. I have actually seen two boxes for these come up on eBay in the last 12.months so keep your eyes open.

    Enjoy

    Cheers
