    Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial

Hello! Long time lurker, but finally made an account to share my experience at the Nashville, TN Omega Boutique. My salesman informed me the new pieces from Baselworld 2014 would be in the store for one evening only and I have been eyeing the new Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial. My first impression was WOW... the glossy black bezel is stunning. Was worried I would not like the apricot color in the dial, but it was far less bold in person than the pictures online. While I would prefer to have a date window I understand why it was not included; Omega wanted to stay true to the 1957 Seamaster.

I also tried on the Planet Ocean with rubber strap (no pictures of it) and like it too! Not crazy about the matte bezel on the "standard" PO. The GMT PO has a glossy bezel, but I am not a fan of GMTs.

Hope you enjoy the pictures of the new Seamaster. Sorry about the plastic in the pictures, since the watches were only in the store for one day they could not take off the plastic.

Thanks for sharing pics. Sounds like you had a great experience at the boutique.

Gladly (for my wallet) your pics are making it clear that this model just isn't for me. I understand the tendency to want to revive a classic look, but I wish they would have modernized the dial a bit. Personally, I find the white second hand incongruous with the overall look of the watch. I wish they would have just made it metallic like the hour/minute hands. I wish they would have also used silver paint for the minute and 3/6/9 markers... And maybe a single applied Omega logo....

This is just my personal opinion. Still think it's an attractive watch.

I really want to like it, but I can't warm to the completely straight lugs (that stick out like a sore thumb) and the (cheap looking) vintage-style bracelet. Had they kept the styling cues and added some of the classic Speedy softer edges I'd have been sold.

Not how it's turned out though.

The dial is the part of the watch that I have a problem with. I wish they would have used a more modern font for the "10,20,30,40,50" indicators. I love the glossy look though, but the font is holding me back. A diver is my next Omega piece, but not 100% this will be it.

I usually notice the small details, but I did not notice the white second hand, but now that you mention it it does seem a little out of place. I assume that is to keep it looking "vintage."

Hmm. I'm left feeling cold. It reminds me too much of something from JLC. My personal opinion.

Thank you for the pics looks like a cool visit.

As far as the 300 nope it is trying way to hard to incorporate every current "vintage" styling cue. I'll take my vintage pieces aged properly.
