One of the most underrated watches Omega makes for some reason. If I had to pick one out my collection to wear for a year, it would be this one. Dressy enough to wear to work (with my 6.75" wrists, it fits under the cuff of a dress shirt), but still a no-fooling diver with a chronograph. What more could you want? The black vertion is versitile enough to do anything. Plus which, the dive bezel is raised off the case a little, solving the probles of the rest of the 300M SMP line -- you can actually grasp and turn the bezel without making a production out of it. The basketweave bracelet is remarkably comfortable and balances the watch nicely.

Even the late Chuck Maddox, Speedmaster lover extrordinare, owned one of these and was very fond of it.

Downsides? In stainless, it's a solid heavy piece of watch, but I like that. Also, the lume does not give you that torch-like effect you get with other Seamasters -- the hour markers have to be smaller to accomodate the chrono sub-dials. Still, having worn it at night, you can tell the time if you wake up in the dark.

And finally, as you can tell by this thread -- it is a bit of a challenge to get a good picture of it with a camera phone.

In matters of principle, stand like a rock; in matters of taste, swim with the current. - Thomas Jefferson

I've had mine for almost two years now and have had no problems with it and plenty of compliments. I like the "weighty" feeling of it on the wrist.

Thanks guys. I have a black one incoming tomorrow and am excited about it. It is a tough looking watch and seems to be casual enough to wear with a tee shirt and jeans but slick enough to go with a suit.

I was struggling with getting a black or blue bond co-ax, however when this one popped up, it called my name.

Is is true that the chrono pushers are safe to use underwater? Do they actually screw down?

Omega says the pushers are safe to operate under water. The pushers don't screw down.

I guess it wouldn't make sense to have screw down pushers if they are water safe. Have you ever used your chrono functions underwater? I'm not sure I'm that brave even if they say it's ok.

Actually, I haven't yet. But since I'm not a diver and the deepest I'll probably take it is the deep end of the pool, I think I'll be ok.

Looks great on your wrist. Classic chronograph from Omega, now with a choice of black or blue. Congratulations,

    Lenny
