Yep the Sun is a keeper. I should’ve bought one of these years ago. One of the chaps at the gym had his 114060 on. I took a look and try on and I smiled knowing I made the right decision for me

Yup! Now that I have seen your Sub, and many 14060 with the narrower lugs, I suppose that is something I found with the 114060, just too large lugs. But I wanted to buy new, as it is almost impossible here to find a vintage or pre-owned Sub that I could actually see in person. For a watch like that, I really have to see in real life before I purchase. Nevertheless, I have to say that the FOIS seems be more than satisfactory for me.

    Cheers,
    Carl

Well, I got to see the Seamaster 300 James Bond Limited Edition at the Vancouver Boutique today. In real life, more subdued than in the photos. The watch, on first glance, actually looked a bit dressy to me, at least dressier than the regular 300M. Details are nice, but I'm not a big fan of the dial, much prefer the waves. The case back looks better than I thought, although having the coat of arms engraved on the sapphire crystal case back still doesn't work for me. Still, overall a nice job, just more subtle than in the photos. I would personally rather go for the regular model.

Usually, I take my camera when I go to look at a new watch, even though I have no intention of purchasing. The fact that I did not take my camera today is likely a good indication of my lack of enthusiasm.

    Cheers,
    Carl

Back in the day I had that reference and the black on a tray in the boutique and I couldn't decide between black and blue. I must've been there for 4 hours. In the end I left with neither and bought a 2254.50 instead

Been there. I deliberate a lot on watch purchases because I often find I “get over” the initial obsession. Only true loves are pursued.

I used to own that watch. Really enjoyed it but found it a bit thick. I wish that they would have extended the hands on this model

The hour hand is comically short!
