Seamaster 300m James Bond Limited Edition

It’s certainly nicer than the ghastly blue & yellow “family coat of arms” Aqua Terra.

Still, the only Bond LE worth owning was the Spectre 300, but despite removing the 007 crap from the watch, they insisted on glorious self advertising with a huge “Omega “ logo on the dial

Maybe the film specific LE this time round will finally nail it?

Not In love at first sight. I thought long and hard about getting one of the older ones like this but ended with a simple 2220.80. The Bond markings are rarely done well.

The commemorative plate is good, however, I wish they kept the markings off the back.

Any word on how think the watch is? It's not on the site.

Seamaster 300m James Bond Limited Edition

I don’t hate it ... still think Spectre was the best limited bond watch so far, mostly because of the lack of anything setting it off as Bond, minus a couple of subtle touches. It was a watch Bond could (and actually does) wear!

I have a feeling the Spectre watches won’t take a depreciation hit

    EDIT:

The above being said, I’m a the waitlist for a submariner Hulk, and if that falls through or I get word it’s going to be another year+ (I’ve been on the list for at least 6 months and apparently I’m the first call when one comes in) I may actually jump on this

Re: Seamaster 300m James Bond Limited Edition

My criterion for getting a new watch is that I have to love it. While I really like this one, I don't love it. However, I am sure when I get to see one in real life I will like it more. My hunch about the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary LE Speedmaster was right. I did like it better in real life than in the photos, but did not love it. And I think that is what will happen here.

I actually had a deposit on the Speedmaster, then before I even saw one, asked the Boutique if they would transfer my deposit to the upcoming James Bond LE, which they did. Now, I am going to ask them to transfer my deposit to the highly speculated film specific model, with brushed case, no date and mesh bracelet. And I am likely dreaming, when I hope it will have a solid case back.

The sapphire case back on this James Bond 007 LE is the real deal breaker for me. Especially, with the engraving on top of it. Perhaps Omega thinks they are being clever, but I think it's a mess. Why not engrave that logo on a beautiful, solid case back? IMO they completely ruined the Seamaster 1948 LE models with the same type of case back. I was all set to go for one of those beauties, then recoiled in horror when I saw that sapphire case back.

Enough of my rant. Yes, I like the new James Bond LE, and think it will be another success for Omega. I have liked most of the James Bond LE watches, but have yet to own one. Just maybe the one worn in the upcoming movie will be the one!

    Cheers,
    Carl

I got mixed feelings about this watch when I saw it. Also, 7007 is not really limited. At those numbers, Omega might as well make non-limited editions and they would be just fine.

Re: Seamaster 300m James Bond Limited Edition

I think it looks absolutely fantastic... and this doesn't happen very often with me. I generally hate print on the sapphire back and this is no exception, but I'd be willing to live with it.

Superb new release! Finally, a reason to stop by the watch dealer again (not to buy it, unless I somehow convince my wife that it's worth getting for my son as a birth year kind of thing).

Edit: Too bad the hands and markers are not rhodium or platinum. Same for the LE plaque... Lol, now that I think about it, the only thing I really love is the dial.
