    SHOW OFF YOUR BROAD ARROW!

Here's my 2006 - which I adore! (Waiting for a 1620/887 band to pop up on Ebay to finish her off)

I don't think it would be appropriate for me to show off my broad Arrow..

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR BROAD ARROW!

I fell in love with the Broad Arrow when I ran across John Holbrook's comparison of the Rolex Daytona and the Omega Broad Arrow seven years ago. Since he is a diehard Rolex fan (and confessed Daytona lover), the fact that the Daytona only edged out the BA was a testament to how good the watch truly was. Shortly thereafter, I was able to score my very own Broad Arrow (which I believe was the 3551.20), shown below.

Sadly, I got caught up in the "big" watch fervor later and sold that 39mm Broad Arrow so I eventually could get one of the 50th anniversary models (which were 42mm). Big mistake! I have regretted doing so ever since.

However, I was able to finally snag a new Broad Arrow - my 321.90.42.50.13.001 in red gold and stainless steel. Ironically, I have come to my senses, more or less, about the necessity for proportion in the size of one's wristwatches and 42mm is the very upper limit of what I am comfortable wearing now on my 7¾" wrist. There are times when I actually feel the current BA is a bit too big ... but it is so good-looking that I quickly put such thoughts out of my mind. It truly is a work of art.

I first went with the Longines Grand Vitesse GMT, which uses the Valjoux 7754, and has the same size case ... for less than half the Omega. But, eventually, I sold it and tried to get one of the GMT Broad Arrows. For whatever reason, there was a lull in the pipeline and I could not find one anywhere, so in a fit of pique I bought a Zenith Defy Classic chrono instead. Big mistake. That was when I learned that one should never buy anything that is not precisely what one wants. Of course, as time went by, I came to realize that the 44.25mm case of the GMT BA would be too big for me (frankly, I should have realized that when I finally tried one on at an AD), so if I had bought it I probably would have flipped it too, just like the Longines GV.

Still, I love the Broad Arrow GMT, especially the red/blue colors on the white dial model. If only it had been offered in a 42mm....

    BUMP
It is a nightmare to take a good picture of this watch. And it is very "light sensitive" imho; it can look dull, but in the right conditions the dial pops and the blue hands and hour markers shine beautifully.

I really want to order a honey brown strap for it, like this (borrowed pic). Dang, it`s pretty
