    Speedmaster Moonwatch Numbered Edition 39.7mm

This is the first limited edition Speedmaster that I've actually cared for. Pretty cool:

My favorite current Speedmaster. I love it.

    I love this.

Great release from Omega. Just a cracking kit. Would love a hesalite crystal on it but this watch has perfect written all over it.

I saw this watch yesterday for the first time. It is, in a word, fantastic. The only drawback I saw was the lack of a deployant, which "should" be easily remedied with a different strap combo.

In order to protect the OEM strap from the heat and humidity of the SE US, I immediately removed it and left it in the commemorative box. I replaced it with an inexpensive Hadley Roma Oil Tan with a vintage look:

I used the original buckle initially but then changed to the Omega fold-over deployant.

But for summer down in the South, a bracelet is a necessity. The JB Champion mesh would probably been more appropriate but I went with the Omega ref. 1125 bracelet:

It took some effort but the ref. 617 end pieces made for a snug fit.

All in all, I like the FOIS and it gets more wrist time than my vintage 105.012.

If I were contemplating my first Speedy Pro purchase, I would probably go with the FOIS over the 357#.50.

Took my wife's Longines in to the AD today, and naturally tried on some watches while I waited for the service paper work.
    Oh, the temptations!
One of the watches I tried on was this FOIS Speedy, wears very nicely. The strap was too small for me though, only fits in the last hole. The hands were a little different than the pic in the OP though. I remember the small second hand as being brown.
What are the pros and cons of this watch over the Speedy Pro?

The other temptation was the PO LM Ti. The bigger case was a much better balance with the thickness of the watch and the Ti made the PO feel much less of a wrist weight. I would actually consider this inspite of my aversion for the thickness.

The FOIS will definitely be my next watch. For me it looks absolutely stunning without the crown-guards and the Professional text. It is also quite faithful to the original 2998, but with minor differences - since it's more of an special edition with a new twist than an exact replica.
