Every detail counts,is the dot at 90 correct ?
ah,one year later it was so (same dot)
5277, I did read about the DON bezel which mine has like both your pictures. I am also confident about the dial face as mine has the silver applied omega like your first picture. I think if it was replaced in 2001 it would be painted like your second picture. Thanks
yes it is,but i have one am willing to let go for a lesser amount....if you are interested, please contact me ..
Whatever you do, DO NOT SEND IT TO OMEGA!
No matter what requests you make of them, they will replace parts that they deem as creating a risk of the watch coming back within the 2 year warranty period. They will not take any steps to stabilize flaking lume, they will just replace the parts no matter what you ask. This could have a very large impact on the value of the watch, so you would be far better off to find a watchmaker that is well versed in vintage Speedmasters, and that will preserve the condition of the watch as it is now, and just service the movement (plus fix the pusher).
After much thought I took it in to Swiss Service Center in Lagrange, IL yesterday. They are not an Omega authorized agent, but might have been in 2001 when they serviced the watch last. Bottom line they did a great job in 2001 and the watch today gains just a few seconds a day. I was able to drop it off in person and talk to them, they are only going to replace/repair the button. I couldn't see any reason to rebuild the watch at this time. Thanks again for all the help here from everyone.
