I just love how it was presented and all the accessories that Speedy Tuesday came with. The brown leather strap looks amazing with the watch.

Speedmaster "Speedy Tuesday" - A Pictorial

Travelller: Absolutely fantastic post; a great read. Thanks for taking the time to write it and the wonderful photos. I don’t have a ST. I was brought here by the search engine on account of your discussion of the 1171/633. I just ordered one myself for my modern Speedy and am wondering if I made a mistake given what I’ve read here (and elsewhere) about the end links.

Thanks everyone - it's a pleasure to "talk about" such an awesome Speedmaster and auspicious project!

Thanks Ken - you're 100% correct. I think the traffic on FB's Speedytuesday Group picked up serious pace in Sep. but of course now that you've mentioned it I can recall the IG post from that twice-lucky bloke as well as Robert-Jan's own a few days later (but in a much more personal way... )

I love my 1171 - it's actually the first "vintage" bracelet I own and while those hollow links first took me by surprise, I certainly find it very nostalgic and I'm happy to have ordered it for my ST As for the 633 end links... Like most others with the same combo, I'm now used to it and it frankly only bothers me when I'm taking wristshots (it's the worse possible angle). If I had a little more incentive and a very understanding watchmaker, I'd have them "fine-tune" the end-links to fit better. It's certainly possible however one mistake and you're up the creek. I say this because I can't imagine Omega sells the end links separately (I would actually be pleased to have someone contradict me on this point!)
So don't worry, particularity if you already paid. Give it a try. If it still bothers you after a few weeks, consider getting the end-links modded. My bet is that you will learn to love the combo...

This recent Hodinkee article should help you get over the pitfalls inherent with vintage bracelets and to look forward to the "romantic" side of them

Travelller, thanks! I feel better about it now. That bracelet sure does look fantastic on your ST.

Re: Speedmaster "Speedy Tuesday" - A Pictorial

    ^Thank you, gents!

Someone elsewhere posed the following question: "Why is it a "Tuesday"? What is the significance?"
    To which I answered...

I considered mentioning that when I was writing my post but thought best not to as (most) Omega fans are in the know

Fratello Watches is a popular Watch Blog. Founder Robert-Jan Broer, a big Speedmaster fan, arbitrarily came up with the Social-Networking hashtag #SpeedyTuesday one fine Tuesday (while wearing his Speedmaster, naturally). Others soon followed suite.

Soon thereafter, Robert-Jan also started writing a weekly blog-entry (published on Tuesdays) with the same title. They have been been doing so since 2012 and the Omega Speedmaster "Speedy Tuesday" Limited Edition (311.32.42.30.01.001) was a collaboration to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Speedy-Tuesday Blog and its massive following

    From the man himself:
"Since 2012, we have written almost 250 Speedy Tuesday articles to date and the #SpeedyTuesday tag has been used over 41.000 times on Instagram by the Speedmaster community. For the 5th anniversary, we were thrilled that OMEGA took this inspiration to create the Speedmaster Professional Speedy Tuesday limited Edition."

    p.s. And guess what ...it's #speedytuesday!
