Swatch groups 'Time to move' event 14-16th May 2019

New releases should be coming tomorrow. There isn't much hype over this event, which is open to the press (AD's attended a similar event in March for the upcoming releases I believe).

It will be interesting to see what comes out and if they meet our hopes and expectations!

I for one am excited for some new releases, anyone else?

Are all new releases being made known on one single day?

I have no idea, I assume so like at Baselworld. But, it seems like no-one is talking about it and there is a lack of information :/

The authorized dealers saw all of the new models back in March, but have been under embargo. The question is whether the embargo is completely lifted as of tomorrow or if they have to wait for Omega to announce each piece before they can start talking/posting pictures of them. My assumption is we'll see most/all of them tomorrow.

if there is zero hype for the event Swatch either did a really poor job or should consider going back to Basel. Should be interesting to see if they lose sales due to Baselworld marketing.

Quitting Basel wasn't a smart move IMO. Too much visibility and hype during that week to just ignore. I have a feeling that Basel will fine tune the fair to please the critics and eventually lure Swatch back in.

I only found out about this event because someone I follow on instagram (@rjbroer) mentioned that he was going to the event.

In the comments of the thread, someone posted that they: -

"expected @fratellowatches to explode with great news every 30 minutes"

and his response from @rjbroer was: -

"I am afraid they will work with embargos".

My take on the above is that the attendees will not be allowed to disclose everything that is revealed to them.

The new releases have been under embargo since March, when all the AD's got to see them at the event that ran in Basel alongside Baselworld. This event taking place is open to the press and should be when all or most of the embargo are lifted.

Still zero buzz as of now..
