What is your favourite Speedmaster model, and why?

My two favourite Speedmaster models are the 3570.50.00 from 1997 with tritium and the tapered 1498/840 or 1499/842 bracelet. Love the vintage yellow tritium dial and the "newer" style tapered bracelet.

The other one is the Speedmaster 50th Anniversary L. Edition 1957 pcs from 2007. I love this model because of the enamel dial and 100-meter water resistance. It is equipped with the F. Piguet column-wheel Chronograph movement with Co-Axial escapement which allows the seconds hand to be engaged without any further tear or wear on the movement.

I'm a huge sucker for the hesalite Speedy as it was my grail since I was 14. Look forward to what others have to say.

Used to not like the Panda Dial Speedmasters, as I truly think the original black dial is already close to perfection.

But after the mod, and seeing it in person under a bunch of different lighting / environments, I have come to truly love the Panda dial. Most photos I've seen of the Panda Dial don't fully capture the color / material of the dial, often appearing just white. But in reality, it is a metallic white, with hints of silver, and glimmers with metallic grains under lighting. (I think my second photo below 'sorta' captures the metallic-ness of the dial).

My favourite is the Japan Racing (JR) Limited Edition from 2004. I always loved the original racing dial Speedmasters from the late-1960s/early-1970s, but these are well and truly outside of my price range, and the JR is an almost perfect re-edition of this model.

Now, if Omega would just release a re-edition of the 1968 black racing dial, I would be in heaven.

Mine would have to be the Speedmaster Professional (Hesalite); partly for its auto racing heritage, but mostly for its association with NASA space programs.

And finally, because it's just downright beautiful.

Hesalite sandwich - Speedmaster 3592.50. Tritium hands, decorated gilt movement, hesalite front and sapphire caseback, best of both worlds.

60th Anniversary "Trilogy" Speedmaster Broad Arrow - one of the rare cases where Omega took a historical reference and didn't try to reinterpret it into something more modern or change random details. The broad arrows and grey bezel are such cool features of this version.
